OVERALL THEME / CONTEXT

The “Sustainable and Innovative Cities for Africa” MOOC (massive open online course), which has been developed in partnership with the ADEME French Agency for the Ecological Transition and the African Local Government Academy (ALGA), aims to highlight the crucial role of innovation in accelerating the emergence of sustainable cities on the African continent.

Over the course of four weeks, participants will be encouraged to consider the major challenges facing their regions through presentations by experts, first-hand accounts from local stakeholders, and experimentation with new approaches to problem solving. They will discover the role of innovation (technological, social, or methodological) and will be introduced to tools to support the territorial and environmental transition, all while integrating the challenges, diversity, and richness of the African continent.
