Academy of Mediterranean Talents
The training course in detail
Overall theme and context
The Académie des Talents de la Méditerranée training programme was born from the impetus of the 2019 Mediterranean Forum “The Summit of the Two Shores”. It is the concrete expression of the French President’s desire to forge a new Mediterranean world. As a result, the programme seeks to contribute to the creation of a positive common future to allow the Mediterranean to fulfil its vast potential. This entails embracing a new approach based on its myths, its dreams, its shared histories, and the committed and creative young people who aspire to take control of its future. The programme is a transformational learning path dedicated to young people from around the Mediterranean (Spain, France, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, and Tunisia) that enables them to create networks, develop ideas, and acquire new skills.
Learning objectives
- To understand contemporary issues by questioning the myths surrounding the Mediterranean to better grasp today’s challenges.
- To inspire participants by projecting a promising future and a shared Mediterranean.
- To develop individual skills for planning and implementing change.
- To take action by equipping and supporting people so they can have an impact on a project.
- To foster a sense of belonging by making people part of a committed community that is active around the Mediterranean basin.
Teaching and activities
This hybrid programme features an online section with master classes, inspirational meetings, creative workshops, and digital resources. There will also be two in-person seminars. The programme will explore three specific themes:

- iii) Youth, entrepreneurship, culture and innovation: at the heart of solutions.
