SIBC 2024, 45 IMPACT WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS IN 15 AFRICAN COUNTRIES!
For the first time in SIBC’s history, the AFD Group Campus has relocated the selection and organised 5 juries in Africa to evaluate the 140 applications. In total, about 200 examiners have mobilized to participate in the selection of the 2024 class! This more democratic and inclusive process aimed to further anchor the programme in Africa and promote SIBC and its accompanying projects. 45 projects have been selected, they will join the Social and Inclusive Business Camp in October 2024.
As a reminder, the Social and Inclusive Business Camp is an acceleration program for innovative entrepreneurs with social and/or environmental impact in Africa. Since its creation in 2017, it has helped more than 300 entrepreneurs with a strong societal impact on the African continent to change scale, that is to say maximize their social and/ or environmental impact, and prepare their fundraising.
A selection anchored in Africa with the ecosystem of social entrepreneurship
Motivated by the need to further anchor SIBC on the African continent and mobilize local ecosystems, the AFD Group Campus relocated the selection and organized 5 face-to-face juries in Africa in September 2024:
- South Africa
- Madagascar
- Senegal
- Tunisia
- Ivory Coast
Each of the applications was evaluated twice by two juries from different regions of the original application. In total, about 200 reviewers mobilized to participate in the selection of the 2024 class, but also to be made aware of the program, and create new links with their ecosystems.
As a reminder, the selected projects must meet the following criteria:
- Be run by a woman
- Be legally registered for at least 3 years in a country in Africa
- Have an economic model that is based, in part, on a commercial activity
- Have a social and/or environmental mission at the heart of its activity
- Have planned the development of its activity in new territories
