A LOOK BACK AT CLUB IDFC’S ‘ACTUAR PO EL VIVO’ COLLABORATIVE RESIDENCY IN MEDELLIN
On behalf of the International Development Finance Club (IDFC) and in partnership with COMFAMA and Comuna, organizers of the “ACTUAR PO EL VIVO” Festival in Colombia, the AFD Group Campus organized a residency in Medellin on May 10 and 11 for members of IDFC, a network of 27 national, regional and bilateral public development banks.
The aim of the Medellin residency was to provide a space for collective reflection and exchange on the challenges facing the living world, and to give participants the opportunity to step back and understand the complex challenges they face.
Participants from 8 public development banks on 4 continents had the opportunity to share their experiences with their peers, as well as to exchange views with committed and inspiring personalities from different fields, such as anthropologists Arturo Escobar and Martin Von Hildebrand, or lawyer Marine Calmet, who took part in the “Actuar Por el Vivo” Festival.
“An opportunity to engage with global players with common goals and enriching Skill and knowledge” said a trainig participant.
Based on collective intelligence tools, multi-disciplinary approaches coupled with innovative transformational experiences, the residency enabled these change agents to acquire a holistic and systemic approach, experiment with new problem-solving tools, develop their interpersonal skills and, through the community of peers, strengthen their capacity for pro-nature and pro-climate action.
“Systemic approach is key to achieving change and impacts!” said another participant.
“I learnt the important of active listening and communication. I will use it during my daily work life while talking and discussing ideas with my team members” told a participant.
This residency was part of the annual training offered by IDFC’s Climate and Biodiversity Facility, and complemented the 3-day training in Bogotá organized by Bancoldex and the Frankfurt School of Management on carbon accounting, innovations in climate finance and biodiversity issues.
“ Enjoy! It is a wonderful experience! ”
