The issue is particularly acute in Africa, where cities will have to accommodate almost 900 million new residents by 2050. However, African local authorities face systemic difficulties in dealing with the challenges of local financing, both in terms of budget planning and project evaluation, and in terms of mobilising internal and external resources to provide services and infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the \u201cFinancial Strategies for Local Authorities\u201d training course, the Campus AFD has teamed up with the Global Fund for Cities Development (FMDV) to organise a series of webinars and videos on the theme of \u201cFinancing the Sustainable City of Tomorrow\u201d. These resources have been collected together and are accessible via a mini MOOC (massive open online course).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This programme aims to provide both current participants and former participants in the \u201cFinancial Strategies for Local Authorities\u201d course, and more generally, all the partners involved with the AFD Group and the Global Fund for Cities Development, with insights from experts and on-the-ground operators about inspiring experiences and solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-alt-heading-1\">Learning objectives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To provide an overview of financing strategies available for sustainable development projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To offer insights from experts and share experiences from the field.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To link the challenges of urban transitions and the financial strategies of local governments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-alt-heading-1\">Teaching and activities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This two-hour mini MOOC is held in French and addresses the entire public finance cycle. It offers insights from experts and operators on inspiring experiences and solutions that aim to connect the challenges of urban transitions and the financial strategies of local authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-alt-heading-1\">Registration details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This MOOC is divided into four half-hour modules.
